I purchased these socks 6 months ago and continue to be pleased with their comfort. After repeated washings, they remain soft and fluffy. The elastic continues to remain strong. None of these socks have formed any holes or thin spots.
After five months, I was so pleased with these socks I purchased more and threw out all my non-Gold Toe athletic socks.

I have purchased two 6-packs of these socks so far, the first in July of '08 and the second in Jan '09. I bought the second since the first set was holding up so good. The usual problem I have with socks is they thin out around the heel of the foot and eventually tear when being put on (yes I will wear clothes until they are finished). Since I am on my feet most of the day I used to go through socks in about 6 months.
These socks are fairly thick and have not shown signs of thinning yet. I expect to get a year or two of wear out of them. My first pair is still holding up good. When I put the older Gold toes with the new ones I can tell the difference since the new ones are whiter. However when I wear them mixed my feet cannot tell the difference. Great socks and highly recommended.

I wear a lot of athletic socks and these are the best. Most cotton socks shrink and lose elasticity. Not these babies. They don't contain any cotton! They're great for basketball or everyday lounging. These are all I wear anymore. The six pack is offered for a great price here too.

I wear a 10.5 EE shoe and these socks fit tight out of the package. After washing the first time they shrank to 5 1/2" from heal to toe and 2 1/2 in height. Had to give them away after one use. Someone with a size 4 to 7 and a narrow foot may want to give these a try.
