3 out of 5 stars Problems, but useable   November 26, 2008
K. Kajino (Los Angeles, CA USA)
Bad - Lots of static come through the audio when connected to a USB power source. Static goes away when power is disconnected. This does not happen with another adapter I have.

Bad - A couple of times, it went haywire and bagan placing calls and disconnected repeatedly. Hasn't happened in a while.

Good - Mic is sensitive enough to hold a conversation while driving

Overall, it's usable.

4 out of 5 stars it's fine.   November 17, 2008

probably the least expensive hands free car kit ever.

mic is fine, people can hear me and didn't complain and my car is average loudness.
it indeed pauses music when you answer a call with the mic button which is neat.
it doesn't seem to run the call audio through to the stereo, comes out of the speakerphone on the phone's back. I'm not sure about this, I've only taken a few calls this way and didn't have time to mess with the car's volume to try to fix it. I'd love for it to work through the stereo jack like the HTC headphones do.
at first use the left channel was out and then crackly when wiggled to get it to work. it took a week or so unplugging and replugging to clear this up.
has enough wire length to hide the wires all over your car.

1 out of 5 stars Not usable with Tilt   November 3, 2008

I bought this for my AT&T Tilt. Sometimes it works fine, however more often than not it will randomly call people while it is plugged in. It also constantly beeps as if it is disconnecting and reconnecting. When I got it I tried it out, it worked, I threw away the packaging. A few days later I went to use it in my car and all of this started. It has been doing it ever since with a few exceptions when it works like it is supposed to. The concept is great though. When it works correctly I am able to hook it up to my car stereo and play music or youtube videos, then switch to a phone call that plays through my car speakers - A cheap hands free device, however it is not worth it since it doesn't work most of the time. I would not suggest buying this product, unless you think mine was just defective. There aren't many other reviews to go off of at this time though, so buyer be ware.

5 out of 5 stars Works as expected   July 20, 2008

I bought this product for my Sprint Mogul and it works mostly as expected.
The good: It plugs right in. You can use any headphone you want - I use Koss PortaPros and JVC HC80s (noise-canceling). You can answer calls by pressing the button on the adapter. I can har fine and people can hear me fine. Nice long cable. Music sounds fine and stops and starts for phone calls. I can hear all of the system sounds. There is a charging port on the side.

The bad (and these are all very minor): It partially blocks the stylus slot. After a call, music sometimes plays in mono. Sometime, pressing the hook button on the adapter causes the phone to go over to Call Waiting. It would have been outstanding if the mic had been noice canceling but for $13, still very much worth it.
