I took the hat fly fishing in Maine. Like my other Tilley, it was excellent fitting and kept my head cool. The rear flap not only protected my neck from the sun, it can be wetted and is very cooling. Tilley makes the best hats in the world and I highly recommend this to others.
The wind straps proved invaluable in keeping the hat on. When changing flies, the hat remains on my head and never slips down.

This hat is typical Tilley quality as expected, gives excellent sun protection. I like the long wide brim for extra coverage as well as the pull down 'drape' but I don't think one could find a 'dorkier' looking fitting hat. It's bulky and heavy, front is very thick which all makes the hat hot to wear. All our other Tilleys fit well, look cool and aren't too hot to wear. If you really need extra protection it does the job.
