4 out of 5 stars Mine was perfectly fine   August 18, 2010

I ordered this in Berry and it's a vibrant bold color, a little bit more fuchsia and brighter than the photo shows, which is why I gave it 4 stars. Unlike some of the other reviewers, the shawl that I received had no holes, knots, tangles, or any blemishes that I can see after examining it. I'm also not itchy from wearing this, and I'm allergic to wool so I can't wear anything with wool in it, except for cashmere. As for someone mentioning it being made in China, I bet 99% of the stuff on Amazon and in department stores are made there. The country of origin is listed under the product information so it shouldn't be a surprise? Plus, China is the largest producer of raw cashmere as Cashmere goats are native to China and Mongolia (just looked it up on wikipedia right now [...]). So if you're expecting some multi-hundred dollar designer quality cashmere that's made in Italy, this ~$20 shawl is probably not going to be it. For the price and for its accuracy in the description (it says it's a lightweight wrap and it is), this is very nice and soft. I wish it came in a rusty orange as well.

2 out of 5 stars Quality an issue   August 17, 2010

I ordered shawls in berry & teal. The colors are beautiful, vibrant, and true - very berry and very teal. Also, the wraps are lightweight yet perfectly fine for a bit of warmth without bulk. However, quality is an issue. The berry shawl had a noticeable hole in the shawl when it came out of the package. The teal shawl has two places where it is knotted, and I'd expect it to unravel as well. The weave on both is machine-done but very uneven. Moreover, I had the shawls on me for less than 5 minutes, and I am already itching & scratching. Clearly, there is something I'm allergic to that is in/on these shawls - It's likely dust or mites, which I am highly allergic to. I'm not allergic to wool.

I am disappointed because I was looking forward to these items. However, I returned both without hesitation. Label says 100% cashmere, made in China.

5 out of 5 stars as good as the really expensive ones, if not better   April 16, 2010

I bought it three colors. I have bought so many cashmere knit scarves and nothing has held up as well as these. Perfect in every way. My only complaint? They don't make more colors!

5 out of 5 stars Complimented cozy comfort   April 13, 2010
J. Norman (Hawaii)
Yes, even in Hawaii we need some warmth once in a while. I originally ordered this for my mother-in-law but once I opened it, I couldn't resist the softness and kept for myself. Getting compliments ever since and although it is very light weight, it serves its purpose more than fine and keeps me comfy during the occasional chill spells.

2 out of 5 stars Would anyone know this is cashmere???   March 12, 2010

Disappointing, not luxe as I had expected. Very lightweight, i.e. flimsy. Would probably return it if I had saved the wrapping. Save your money.
